  • £42,000 – £45,000
  • Full time – Term Time Plus 10 days
  • North London, school based in between two schools
  • Immediate Start

We have a great opportunity for a HR Manager that has worked in Education or is looking to get into the Education sector. At first this is a contract role with the view of becoming permanent in the future. The role is with an Outstanding Educational Trust. This is a standalone role to assist the trust in the implementation of its HR aims and objectives. You will lead the HR services for the Trust as part of the executive team, manage and lead absence and sickness monitoring to ensure accurate of leading a HR function within a similar environment. You will be responsible for keeping the trust fully compliant with Safer Recruitment and that the Single Central register is Up to date. As the trust grows there is opportunity of progression to become HR Director.

An overview of responsibilities:

  • To advise the CFO and Executive Headteacher/ Headteacher in all HR matters pertaining to the smooth and effective running of the Multi Academy Trust.
  • To have a role, with other senior leaders, in the development of the Trust’s strategic planning.
  • To have responsibility for the HR functions of the Trust.
  • To be a key member of the Trust Committee, responsible for all aspects of HR.
  • To provide clear direction and leadership for all HR matters which affect the Trust.
  • To provide advice to managers on HR related employment matters.
  • To administer all contract and payroll changes for employees in liaison with the payroll manager.
  • To maintain and promote the Trust’s pursuit of excellence in all professional practice.
  • To oversee all HR policies and procedures.
  • To manage and maintain efficient systems, processes, and records for all HR Functions.
  • To ensure effective budget management of the relevant budgets, HR, Recruitment and Trust CPD.
  • To keep up to date with Employment Law ensuring the Trust is compliant in HR matters.
  • To work with the CPD Leaders, providing administration / HR systems for CPD.

The person:

  • CIPD Level 7 or equivalent
  • Experience at HR Manager level
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of key ER processes such as disciplinary, grievance, redundancy, performance management
  • Be able to work in a busy environment
  • Be a valued member of SLT and an integral part of the school.
