Genmab is looking for a dedicated and experienced Sr. Legal Advisor to join our team Denmark and will be part of our existing Global Legal Department in Copenhagen (DK), Utrecht (NL), and Princeton (US).
The role is a newly established role in the Global Legal Department and will have a focus on the local Danish organization but will also be providing legal support and advice to the global organization in particular for our global Finance and HR team.
The main responsibilities will be providing advise and reviewing, drafting and negotiating agreements within DK HR and DK Facilities as well as advising on and ensuring compliance with the corporate and securities regulations. As Senior Legal Advisor, you will work project-based and closely together with devoted colleagues in the organization and with external collaboration partners, with the overall goal to develop new and innovative medicines to patients.
The Legal department consists of 20 Legal Advisors and is divided into different global sub-teams and local roles. This role is a role for Denmark and withline reporting to the Vice President, Head of Legal, located in Copenhagen.
Your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Responsible for providing legal advice on corporate and securities matters, including advice related to Genmab’s equity program, review and advice on any amendment to the equity program; be responsible for the insider administration and provide training to employees globally; be responsible for the corporate maintenance and compliance of Genmab’s subsidiaries and review and negotiate related agreements
Providing legal support related to the service agreements for our executive management and providing support related to necessary registrations in Denmark, e.g. with the Danish Business Authority, Danish Agency for International Recruitment and Integration (SIRI), banks.
Assist our Global Finance department with reviewing, drafting negotiating agreements, such as bank, broker and investment agreements and provide various ad-hoc legal support regarding sale of third party share holdings, share buyback, internal and external audit, insurance and SOX compliance procedures
Work closely with DK HR operations’ team with reviewing, drafting and negotiating employee related agreements, incl. employment agreements; generate and review agreement templates and the employee handbook, as well as providing legal advice on and training related to HR matters such as vacation, pension, Covid-19, leaves
Provide guidance for our DK Facilities team regarding legal matters related to our DK facilities, e.g. lease agreement, refurbishment agreements, access controls, and participate in Site Operations Meetings. In addition, the role will support the Global Facilities team on ad-hoc matters
A Master of Law (Cand.jur.) from an accredited law school with a minimum of 8-9 years of relevant work experience
Experience from the life science industry or a law firm servicing life science clients is a preference, but not a requirement
Working with corporate, securities, and employment matters
Reviewing and negotiating relevant agreements and working with stakeholders representing cooperate functions

Experience working in an international environment with a commercial-mindset and solution-oriented with an ability to analyze legal situations, understand the facts and the client’s business position and efficiently assimilate information from a variety of sources
Excellent verbal/written communication and negotiating skills
Ability to work independently as well as in teams with a proactive and open mindset
Good sense of quality combined with personal drive and a positive attitude and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
