Senior project manager, Elkem -Oslo,Norway

As our new Senior Project Manager, you will be part of a leading industrial group with a focus on innovation, technology and environmentally friendly solutions. You will have a key role in Elkem’s industrial projects where the main purposes are to strengthen our efficiency, profitability or sustainability. The position is part of our department for Project Management, which is the company’s central professional environment for project management and project management.

Many of Elkem’s projects are small or medium-sized modification projects in our industrial facilities, where in addition to being an administrative project manager, you will often also take on several other roles. We are looking for typical “all-rounders” with longer experience from the project management profession and who thrive in an operational and broad role.

Most of Elkem’s industrial projects undergo a phase-by-step development with a view to studying relevant alternatives, costs and implementation uncertainty, before the projects are possibly submitted for a final investment decision. It is critical that we select the right project opportunities and that these projects are carried out in the right way.

Elkem has recently announced projects related to biocarbon for the smelter industry, as well as materials for the battery industry. Work is also being done on other important climate-related projects. Participation in these are examples of projects that are very relevant for this new position.

The most important tasks will be:

Project manager in the company’s industrial projects
Technical assessment assistance to the company’s department for business development
Supplier contact and follow-up of contracts / contracts both technically and commercially
We want you to have the following qualifications:

BSc. / MSc. /Ph.d. in chemical engineering, process metallurgy, materials technology, process engineering, mechanical engineering or equivalent
At least five years’ experience from project work in interdisciplinary mines, mineral handling, industrial or oil / gas projects.
Good interdisciplinary technical understanding.
Must be fluent in Norwegian and English as working languages.
In order to succeed in the position, it is important to work closely with the other professional environments and our works in Norway and abroad. It is important to us that you have good collaboration knowledge and the ability to familiarize yourself with complex matters.

The position reports to the project director. Some travel activities to our works either in Norway or internationally must be taken into account, but we provide great flexibility in the role.

Workplace is in Oslo, alternatively Kristiansand.
