Director Retail & New Business at mymuesli in Munchen, Germany

To strengthen our leadership team, we are now looking for a  Director Retail & New Business in Berlin, Passau or remote in Munich (with regular trips to Berlin or Passau). This position is suspended directly below the Co-CEO. As a member of the management team, you will work closely with other executives from the areas of online, branding & product, production, logistics and finance.

In this role you have  the strategic and operational responsibility for our business with leading trading partners and corporate customers in the DACH region . You will develop existing relationships sustainably and in partnership, expand them with new customers and open up new, innovative sales channels. In this position, with P&L responsibility, you will manage around 30 employees and make a significant contribution to the sustainable growth and economic success of mymuesli.


  • Definition and implementation of a “go-to-market” strategy for existing and new key accounts in retail and corporate customers
  • Support of key account managers in the further development and expansion of customer relationships with existing and new key accounts through the creation of long-term, customer-oriented business plans
  • Development and implementation of business plans to further expand business in DACH and promote the expansion of international business
  • Development and implementation of customer-related marketing and sales strategies and ensuring a uniform brand presence at the POS
  • Development of innovative sales channels (e.g. delivery services)
  • Close cooperation with product management, online, logistics etc. to address the requirements of the retail business and to ensure that a holistic omni-channel approach is guaranteed and implemented
  • Implementation of a route-to-market strategy that is developed and implemented together with product management, production and logistics, so that efficient forecasting can be ensured and a flexible and cost-effective delivery system can be offered to our customers
  • Execution of external benchmarks and market analyzes in order to identify growth potential for existing and new sales channels
  • Management of the key account managers and field staff and establishment of a “sales academy” in order to systematically develop the skills of the employees
  • Ensure that the organization is able to meet the demands of a rapidly changing market and implement a development-oriented organization that sets trends and strategies in the markets
  • Definition of the organizational structure and the competencies that are required nationally and internationally in order to achieve the set commercial goals


  • You have at least 10 years of relevant professional and management experience that you have gained in an internationally oriented, medium-sized company or a well-known corporation
  • You can fall back on a lot of industry experience and have experience in a manufacturing company in the fast moving consumer goods industry
  • You have already held leading positions in sales and category management
  • You have gained experience in leading a sales force and key account team and would like to actively steer our teams
  • You have trading expertise and a broad, diversified network
  • Ideally, you have completed a technical and / or business degree and speak English (business fluent, spoken and written)
  • You are characterized by a data-driven mindset and you have conceptual strength to further develop our multichannel approach and to conquer new businesses with us
  • You enjoy complex, analytical, strategic and operational tasks
  • You are used to working independently and with a focus on results
  • You can win colleagues, employees and external business partners for mymuesli as well as new structures and processes through reliable partnership
  • You are hands-on, have the power to make decisions and negotiate, and act in a holistic and customer-oriented manner
  • You are business fluent and can refer to successes in complex annual negotiations
  • You are the type of “strong sparring partner” and a team player who convinces colleagues in terms of content
  • You enjoy developing our company together with the management team
  • You are agile, you can cope with ambiguities in a fast-paced environment and you are able to quickly adapt yourself and your team to new requirements.
