Network engineer

We will now strengthen our Connectivity & Network team with a network engineer.

The Connectivity & Network team is responsible for designing, optimizing and operating Telenor Maritime’s IP network and servers both on our land-based installations and on vessels. The team consists of experts in Wifi networks, network architecture, network security and various network components. Most are active participants in the installation, commissioning and maintenance of equipment on board vessels. In addition, they participate in the further development of Telenor Maritime’s products as well as in various development projects led by our R&D department.

You will be part of a team consisting of professionally strong and highly educated employees where cooperation and openness are an important key to success.

Tasks

  • System design of K8S and Container technology
  • Linux server system
  • Integration of components in Telenor Maritime Core Network
  • Operation and maintenance of IP / Backbone Network platform
  • Optimize and perform improvements to the IP / Backbone Network
  • Technical support to other departments
  • Contribute to R&D projects
  • Construction of test environments

Wanted qualifications

  • College or university education at minimum Bachelor level. Relevant experience can compensate for lack of education
  • Experience as a network technician or similar position in security and networking or network installation
  • Knowledge of, and preferably experience with, Cisco routers and switches, Xiplink and Linux servers
  • Knowledge of K8S and Container technology
  • Knowledge of WiFi systems
  • Is familiar with virtual environments
  • Has good Norwegian and English skills orally and in writing
