As the number of students majoring in chemistry and forensics continues to grow, there is a technical vacancy for a senior technician who is responsible for working and supervising a set of analytical chemistry laboratories and supporting chemistry and forensics teaching laboratories.

As part of a flexible and busy team of technicians distributed in multiple buildings, this role will involve providing technical support to students, researchers, and scholars involved in analytical chemistry. This is an exciting opportunity for senior technicians with relevant experience, preferably with some experience in a higher education environment.

You will manage and maintain a suite of labs, in collaboration with the Technical specialist, ensuring they are kept to the highest standard of cleanliness & organization. You will be responsible for ensuring that equipment in the labs is maintained and enable students to undertake their work, from simple equipment (such as balances) to high spec instrumentation (such as LCMS-Q-TOF).

You will also be expected to be flexible and support colleagues and students in other areas of the School of Science and Technology, as part of a School-wide technical team.
